The Board Game
Mechanics, Map and Sanctuaries
Easy mechanics with simple battle system. The complexity of the gameplay comes from the variety of abilities, effects, items and how players choose to use them. The map is modular. So each game can be randomised. There are save places called ''Sanctuaries'' located on the map where players cannot start a battle. The Sanctuaries are also connected to the function of some effect cards and character's abilities. Strategies and tactics is the key for winning.
The world in the comic and the board game is interlinked. A lot of the effect cards are actual events in the comic's storyline. Also the map, the effect cards, the item cards, the artefacts and the characters interact with each other. The course of the game depends on party build, items hold and the player's choices. The brute force won't always matter you have to be clever to win.
Work in Progress
At the moment I have the modular map, the effect, item, lore cards and the artefacts finished. I am working on the portraits of few more characters, design of the box, figurines, the rule book and the lore book which will be included in the box. The gameplay is also adaptable for PC and APP. So once I complete the work on the board game, I will aim at the making of an electronic version.
One of the essential parts of the game is the party build. Players can choose few (from 2 to 3 depending on the game mode) character in the very beginning of the game. They have abilities, talents and base stats. Some of them are cunning and swift, some strong and durable, some manipulative and some supportive.
Players will also be able to ally characters from the map during the game and expand their party.
